    Second Printing of a booklet published by the Conference on Education and Race Relations in 1939; the First Printing was in 1937.  Copied from behind front cover:  "This address was delivered at the fourth Southwide Conference on Education and Race Relations, in session at Blue Ridge, North Carolina, August 4, 1937.  Composed of a large number of representative Southern educators, this Conference is seeking to develop a sound educational approach to the peculiar problems incident to the South's biracial population.  The address is published in response to requests from many sources."  The address is 11 pages long in a solidly bound booklet in NEAR FINE CONDITION, with no marks or tears, solid unrusted staples.  The address was given by Mark Ethridge, Manager, Courier Journal, Louisville, Ky.
    From the 1981 obituary of Mark Ethridge:  "
    Mark F. Ehridge, 84, a retired chairman of the board of the Louisiville Courier-Journal and the Louisville Times Company, died Sunday at his home in Moncure, N.C., after a stroke.
    Mr. Ethridge spoke out against racism and poverty long before it became popular to do so. He had joined the Louisville, Ky., newspapers in 1936 as vice president and general manager. He was their publisher from 1942 to 1962..."
