Description
Published in 1939, this is a story of a boy and his family who were tenant farmers in North Carolina. It is illustrated with over fifty black & white photographs showing Tobe with his brothers and sisters in various activities on a small southern farm. The photographs are phenomenal. The author Stella Gentry Sharpe wrote the book in response to a question from a young boy who lived near her. The boy wanted to know why there were no children’s books with boys that looked like him.Overall the book is in great shape...some wear on the hardcover. 121 pages. Photos by Charles Farrell.
