Here is a pretty damned effective example of movie poster design, the mesmerizing original US theatrical 1-sheet for the MGM release of their sequel featuring the glowing-eyed genius extraterrestrial offspring Children of the Damned (1964).While not quite as threatening as the video game addled spawn of today, these mind melting moppets created quite a sensation as their first appearance in Village of the Damned (1960) grossed over million. While not a direct sequel as there's not reference to events from the first film, Children of the Damned bore enough resemblance to the original, this time using six children of different nationalities to drive home a message against prejudice, for MGM to recycle their successful "beware the eyes that paralyze"  marketing campaign.
This poster and many of its foreign counterparts are some of the best examples of simple but effective movie poster graphics, taking full advantage of the fact that the first place humans look is into each other's eyes!
