Vintage, antique estate find dating to the 19th century / 19c ~
What a treasure to find an antique custard glass water set with a pitcher and six matching drinking glasses
/ tumblers!
Decorated with gilding/ gold and enameling in the Chrysanthemum Sprig / Pagoda pattern.
Originally this pattern was called Pagoda and was made by the Northwood Co. in 1899.
Includes a water pitcher, which measures about 8 1/2" high and
Six water glasses measuring about 4" high.
This custard glass is also called 'Uranium glass' today and will fluoresce under a black light to green!
It was very difficult to photograph them and to try to get them all to glow at one time, because I am not a professional photographer and was working with a portable black light and trying to get equal black light on all of them at one time was just about impossible.Some of the tumblers do not have as much uranium content in them as others, but they do all glow, but at different amounts.
Overall, in great vintage condition - some pieces show some wear to the gold trim and the tumblers have some tiny nicks on the bases from storage over the century. Please examine pictures ~
