    Description

Here is a set of eight lobby cards (11" x 14") for the Europix release of Mario Bava's haunting supernatural gothic Kill Baby Kill (1966), the banal import title betraying a remarkable tale of ghostly vengeance which popularized the "little girl ghost" which has been recycled (frequently in direct homage) by film auteurs from Stanley Kubrick to Guillermo Del Toro. Essentially a descent into madness which tempts the audience's grasp on reality, the lead character is a man of science who gradually realizes that he has found himself in the middle of a war of witchcraft and possession. Proof positive of the genius of Mario Bava, constructing an influential and pivotal horror gothic on a budget of ,000, which is equivalent to 7,000 today! Perhaps another indication of the lack of resourcefulness and artfulness borne out of a lazy reliance on technology in today's amusement park rides disguised as cinema.
