    Description

Lionel #9206, Great Northern Boxcar w/ white lettering, ca. 1970
Sturdy car, almost like new! Bright, cheerful sky-blue color with crisp white lettering and the famous mountain goat logo. One goat has a small
    brown stain on it.
Doors, paint, and trucks all intact.
Original box included, normal wear and tear. This is the
relatively rare late 60s "A Lifetime of Railroading" kind of box, very groovy! Lionel boxes of the 1970s
    and
80s were a bit flimsier because of the big plastic windows, and show wear and tear a bit more, but are also covered with drawings and/or photos of other trains and accessories that were for sale at the time.
This is from my father's collection. A lifelong inhabitant of New York City and an avid Lionel collector since childhood, he kept his collection in excellent shape, in custom-built storage cases and in the original packaging as often as possible. Of course, there is some normal wear and tear but if a piece or its packaging has any damage beyond that, I will include it in the description and/or pictures.
Our family has selected our favorite pieces and would like to see that the rest go to people or places that will also appreciate them. We have many pieces of Lionel rolling stock, buildings, and equipment as well as various books and ephemera from a happy long life as a railfan.
There are hundreds of pieces and it will take several months to list them all, so keep an eye on my account to see if a piece you'd like is listed. We have items from the 1930s to the early 2000s. Please let me know if you have any questions.
I will be happy to combine items to reduce shipping costs if you buy more than one item. Please don't pay until you've bought all the items you'd like to be sent at once so I can combine the invoice and calculate the shipping.
